Long Bridge, the MTI Joint Venture proposed a pre-built truss erection alternative to reduce impact on public, rail and river traffic requiring the lifting of three sets of paired trusses over 500-ft long, weighing more than 2700 tons. A real-time, remote monitoring system was used during the transport, lift and setting operation to limit truss distortion during the lifting and skidding operation.
