In this work, we propose the use of stimulated Brillouin scattering in optical fibers, in order to detect the vibrations of a cantilever beam. In particular, the first two natural frequencies of cantilever were successfully retrieved by our optical fiber sensor. Comparison with the numerical results obtained by a finite-elements method, permitted to demonstrates the accuracy of the proposed technique.
